Singer /songwriter Sabrina Carpenterhas released “Smoke and Fire,” the companion video to her new single. The video, which was directed by Jessie Hill (Chris Cornell, The Last Internationale) and shot in Los Angeles, can be viewed on VEVO - HERE.

This coming Thursday, March 17, Sabrina will sing “Smoke and Fire” on Live with Kelly and Michael, marking her first nationally televised performance of the song.

Available at all digital providers, “Smoke and Fire” isthe first track off her yet-to-be-titled sophomore album due later this year.

While simultaneously working on the new record and shooting season 3 of the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World, Sabrina will take a break from both to perform at “Show of the Summer” on August 20 at Hershey Park Stadium, in her home state of Pennsylvania, where she’ll share the stage with Shawn Mendes and Jack and Jack.

Carpenter and co-writer IdoZmishlany, who also produced “Smoke and Fire,”wrote the bulk of the song during a five-hour writing session in Los Angeles on the night they met, eventually finishing it in New York. For Carpenter, “Smoke and Fire” represents a deeper expression of herself; it’s “about the experience and the feelings you have in the aftermath of a relationship’s end,” Carpenter says. “With the first album, I couldn’t touch on that subject in an honest way because I hadn’t experienced it.” Now on the verge of turning 17, she has a new range of experiences and emotions to draw from and explore through her music.

Though she’s established a diehard international fanbase by playing rebellious Maya Hart on the popular Girl Meets World, music remains Sabrina Carpenter’s first love. The Los Angeles-based multitalented singer/songwriter released her debut album, “Eyes Wide Open” in April 2015. The album, which has amassed over 33M streams combined on Spotify since its April 14, 2015 is a collection of uplifting, infectious, well-crafted pop songs, many of them co-written by Carpenter. The accompanying music videos for songs including “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying,” “Middle of Starting Over,”“Eye Wide Open” and “We’ll Be The Stars” have 85M combined views and counting.
