DESCRIPTION OF YOUR UNIT:
We need to know what your unit will be so we can make sure we have room for you in staging. Please be as descriptive as possible.

Here are some good examples:

  1. We will have a truck and trailer. The truck is a Ford F250 and the trailer is a 16ft trailer. There will be approximately 15 riders on the trailer. We will have a large handmade nativity scene on the trailer and music playing from the back of the truck. We will have no walkers with our unit.
  1. We will have approx.. 35 walkers in our unit. There will be people with strollers and wagons with small children. We will have some dogs on leashes too. There will be a mascot walking with us dressed like a dog.

APPLICATION FEES:All entry fees are established to cover the cost of the parade and

are nonrefundable, for any reason, after date of acceptance. Entry

fees for denied applications will be returned to the applicant.

DEADLINE:Application period ends: Friday,February 26, 2016 by 5pm

To be an eligible application, the completed application must be

postmarked no later than the above date or (if hand delivered)

reach the Recreation & Parks Office no later than the above date

and time to be eligible.

ACCEPTANCE:Notification date: Wednesday, March 2, 2016

The committee will notify applicants by e-mail or phone if no email is available of their acceptance.

SELECTION:2016 Parade Theme Contest: To be eligible for the 2016 St. Patty’s Day parade you must meet one of the following:

  • Enter a golf cart
  • Rent a golf cart from the BRPD
  • Create a theme for your golf cart

*The theme must be in good taste. It must not contain any political, religious, ethnic, sexual, or inappropriate references.

WINNING ENTRANT:The winning entrant will be awarded with the following:

  • Business: WPCM Radio Spot
  • Nonprofit: 1st selection of site at the Burlington Carousel Festival and a BRPD gift basket
  • Miscellaneous: A downtown gift basket

ARRIVAL TIMES:We encourage all entries & participants to arrive by South Church St. turning onto Davis Street. Staff will be at the parade staging entrance @ Worth & Davis to guide you to your numbered parade staging location. Entrance opens at 4pm.All golf carts must be decorated by 6:30pm with parade units staged at this time.

CONTINUOUS MOTION:Please keep speeds at a minimum but with continued forward progress.
