Rules of the City Game

„Break the code”
Date: July 16th, START: 11 am

§ 1. Organizer

  1. The city game „Break the code” (the game) is organized by Marek Michalak conducting the business activity under the business name Exploring Events Marek Michalak, address ul. Gajowa 46/48/18, 50-520 Wrocław, registered in the register of etnrepreneurs kept by the minister of economy, NIP (tax identification number) 8992246919, REGON 932921572.
  2. The Organizer is the personal data controller of the participants of the City Game.

§ 2. Registration

  1. The registration for the game is conducted via Internet only.
    You have to create a team of 3 people and fill in a registration form on the game website to participate in the game.
  2. The registration is open from 05.07 until 14.07.2016 (till 23.59) or until all places in the game are assigned (max 35 teams or 100 people).
  3. All e-mails sent by the organizer are considered read and delivered to recipients.
  4. The team consists of 2 or 3 people.
  5. Everyone participating in the game must be 18 years or older.
  6. Interest in IT and codes is advised.

§ 3. START OF THE GAME

  1. The registered teams can pick up the starters kit on July 16th, between 10.30 and 10.50 at the starting point, which will be located atMonument of Chrobry next to RENOMA Gallery (intersection of ul. Świdnicka and ul. Podwale).
  2. Not picking up the kit by 10.50 means you will be disqualified and some other team can pick the starters kit meant for your team.
  3. The captain of the team confirms the participation of the team when picking the kit by signing the starting list.
  4. You can modify the team members before the start of the game. You cannot do it while you are playing.
  5. In case some kits are not picked up, there will be an opportunity to join the game on the spot by appearing at the starting point in between 10.55 and 11.29.
  6. To pick up the starters kit you have to confirm reading this document by signing the starting list.

§ 4. Conditions of the game

  1. Every person participating in the game should be in good health condition, allowing the person to play the game.
  2. While playing the game you have to be identifiable to the instructors conducting it by:

- wearing the game t-shirt

- wearing the game pack with the starters kit

- presenting at each task point the game card with the names of participants

  1. By picking the starters kit you declare to:
  • Adhere to the rules of the game as presented in this document;
  • Give consent to the processing of personal data by the Organizer for the purpose of conducting this game as defined in the Article 31 of the Act of August 29, 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 1182, with amendments);
  • Give consent to the publishing of the photos and video clips from the game on Organizers’ website and Facebook pages as well as in the media and/or other outlets;

§ 5. Rules of the game – Starting point

  1. The game is played in the city of Wrocław on July 16 2016, from 11.00 until 14.00.
  1. The Starting point will be at Monument of Chrobry next to RENOMA Gallery (intersection of ul. Świdnicka and ul. Podwale).
  2. The game is played in normal traffic and the participants are advised to take that into account.
  1. The organizer does not provide medical services to the participants.
  2. The organizer is not responsible for the safety of participants. All participants are of age and are responsible for their own safety and security throughout the game.
  3. The game starts with the briefing for all the participants in the starting point, after all the starters kits are distributed.
  4. The start of the game is supposed to happen at 11.00. The game starts after the signal from the organizers.
  5. Each team member will receive starters kit (the game t-shirt, water, musli bars, a backpack) and each team will receive the game kit (a map, short rules of the game, instructions).

§ 6. Rules of the game – The game

  1. There are 12 task points each task point is handled by an Animator, responsible for the task to complete at hand.
  2. The tasks points are all located around the city centre and marked on the map received by the team at the start. Locating the exact place of the task points is part of the game.
  3. The elements of the starters kit have to be visibly presented throughout the game. The Animator can refuse the team the possibility to complete the task if they are not presented visibly when approaching a task point.
  4. After the task is completed you receive stamps and points confirming the task completion. You can get a maximum of 5 points for each task, depending on the task rules.
  5. The sequence in which the teams decide to do the tasks is up to the teams.
  6. In case of other teams already waiting to complete a certain task, the decision on whether to stay in line or go look for the next task is entirely up to the team members.

§ 7. Rules of the game - points and disqualification

  1. The points will be collected onto the game card.
  2. The game card has to be signed by first and last names of all the participants of the game.
  3. Maximum number of points team can gather throughout the game is 60.
  4. While playing you are supposed to move on foot only. You can use the tram to reach the finish point (ZaZoo Beach Bar).
  5. You cannot use the internet or communicate with other teams while completing a task.
  6. Please do not split the teams. It is forbidden.
  7. In case any of the rules of this document is broken, a team might be disqualified by any of the Organizer’s representatives, all the way until the game is finished.

§ 8. Rules of the game – The end of the game

  1. The game ends on July 16th 2016 at 14.00.
  2. You can visit the task points until 13.50 – that is the moment the task points will close.
  3. The time of completing the game is counted from the moment the game starts until the team reaches the finish point.
  4. Reaching the finish point means finding the Organizer’s representative at the finish point (ZaZoo Beach Bar- WybrzeżeWyspiańskiego 39E, 50-370 Wrocław) and giving him/her the game card signed by the participants.
  5. The time of completing the game will be put on the game card by the Organizer’s representative in the finish point.
  6. The players can finish the game earlier. The finish line will be open from 13.00.
  7. You cannot complete the game after 14.30. The cards delivered after that our will not be taken into account.
  8. The winners will be announced around 14.40

§ 9. Winners and prizes

  1. The place in the final ranking of the game is decided by:
  • Number of points gathered throughout the game;
  • In case of a tie: the time the team arrives on the finish line;
  1. The three best teams will receive prizes: the e-book readers (for 1st place), smart watches (for 2nd place) and speaker sets (for 3rd place).
  2. The prizes cannot be exchanged for other prizes or exchanged for money prize.
  3. The right to the prize cannot be transferred to a third party.
  4. The prizes that were not picked or given out will be decided in accordance to the Organizer’s decision.
  5. At least one team member has to be present to be able to receive the prize.

§ 10. The Final Clauses

  1. Participating in the game means one decides to accept the rules as stated in this document.
  2. Rules of the game will be available at the Starting and Finish points as well as on the website of the game.
  3. In other situations, unmentioned in this document, regarding the handling of the game, the Organizers have the final say.
  4. In case the participants have any objections towards the Organizers after the game is finished as to whether the game was conducted in accordance to the rules as stated in this document, they can send their complaints within 7 days of the game day in person or by registered mail to: Exploring Events, ul. Leszczyńskiego 4/75, 50-078 Wrocław.
  5. After this date no complaints will be registered.
  6. The complaints presented in accordance to this document will be decided within 30 days after the game day.
  7. The Organizers reserve the decision to change the rules as stated in this document in case of major or unpredicted events, which may cause such changes.
