Pre-Writing: An excellent will include an introduction, body and conclusion. It will also be done in Bubbl or an appropriate outline. Anything other will be scored under 10.
Writing: If anything is turned in under a page you will not receive anything above Poor. To receive excellent the paper needs to be in correct format meaning the font, size of font and heading is right. The grammar does not need to be perfect because that is the use for the next two days, but at least try to make it sound smart!
Revising: Remember there are two things to turn in at this step. To get an excellent I need both papers: one clean and error free and one with your comments and revisions from Word. If I get one and not the other nothing other than a poor will be given. If I get both, but the revised is not from Word, than nothing other than a Fair will be given.
Editing: This step should be easy to get an excellent on. As long as you find two classmates to read your paper, fill out the paper I handed out for guidance and your paper has some comments on it than you are set.
Publishing: This part needs to be perfect. Few to no grammar errors, in MLA format, it includes all aspects of assignment and turned in on time.
Anything turned in a day late will lose two points automatically!
Now to be nice, if I get your paper and I still think that you need to do more editing, than I will hand it back to you not scored, but with comments and allow you to turn it in again the next day for full credit. This is also another way to help you learn your writing mistakes.
