Rowan University Health and Exercise Science class of 2015

Moorestown Friends School Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach

Cherry Hill FC Coach and Team Trainer

Cherry Hill FC

I have been apart of Cherry Hill FC since I was six years old. I played on recreational teams until I was nine. At age nine I played travel soccer until I was twenty. Simultaneously, I was assisting my father coach my brother’s soccer team in the club since 2008. In 2012 I became the head coach of my brother’s team (U-15 at the time). They have been successful in the past couple of years going to the NJYS State Cup Semi-Finals in Spring 2013 and consistently being ranked in the top 15 in NJ according to Gotsoccer.com.

As a player, my team was also consistently ranked within the top 15 in NJ according to Gotsoccer.com, usually in the top 10. Some of my teammates went on to play at schools such as: Fordham, Swarthmore, Rutgers-Camden as well as others.

Moorestown Friends School

I have been apart of the Moorestown Friends community since the Fall of 2012. I started (and still remain) the assistant Varsity Men’s Soccer coach. In 2013 the team was a finalist in South Jersey in our Respective Group. We also had much regular season success in our past couple of seasons.

In addition to coaching, I was also appointed as a substitute teacher in the Winter of 2013. I was able to take a lighter Spring semester in 2013 and was able to substitute teach, mostly in my preferred field of Physical Education, 2-4 times per week because of a maternity leave.

Education

I graduated from Cherry Hill High School East in 2010. I also participated in three Varsity sports including: Soccer, Wrestling and Volleyball. I won Olympic American Conference Titles in each sport.

I attended Camden County College from 2010-2013. I took a great variety of courses prior to transferring. I participated in Soccer from 2010-2011, captaining the side my second year. The Team won the first playoff game for the first time in over 5 years.

I then Transferred to Rowan University in the fall of 2013 to study Health and Exercise Science. Because of my other commitments I was not able to be as involved in clubs and other University related activities but still find time to familiarize myself with the population and create new networks.

Education Philosophy

!J

As a future Health and or Physical educator, I believe that I should provide information to students that is not necessarily in the curriculum.

As a Physical educator I want to help the students who don’t often succeed in Phys. Ed and help them to remain physically active in and outside of the classroom.

I want to make Health education more practical. I want to do more health projects and study nutrition throughout the semester/year no matter what the subject matter. I will have my classes make goals for themselves in a health regard.
