Purpose of the job:
‘Rotherham Building Stronger Communities – a partnership approach’ is an exciting new partnership initiative between Rotherham Council and Clifton Learning Partnership supported by DCLG funding to deliver activities to develop the local community’s ability to play a full role in society. This work will involve work with adults to help them to engage in planned activities, by developing links, building trust, providing translation support, and being a role model.
The role also involves working as a member of Clifton Learning Partnership to deliver its mission and aims to support the community to be the best that it can.
Key responsibilities:
You will:
- work with adultsfrom the local community in their own homes, in schools and in community venues in order to offer practical and emotional support to enable them to engage in opportunities created by the ‘Rotherham Building Stronger Communities – a partnership approach’ initiative
- encourage members of the community to engage in volunteering activities, specifically to improve the local environment – this will involve some work outdoors
- deliver groups and activities relevant to the needs of the community in order to encourage engagement and skill development
- work collaboratively with partners and other agencies to empower local people, build confidence, engender resilience and self-reliance that will enable them to play a part in their community
- support the personal and professional development of volunteers and other team members
- provide translation support
- support the delivery of sessions
- develop a knowledge and understanding of local resources and services and to work with them in order to deliver activities
- manage work load and plan time effectively
- track, evaluate and evidence outcomes
