ROTARY CAMP Březejc 2010

The international camp in Březejc, Czech Republic, is an opportunity to meet young people from Europe and spend some summer time together. This time we are concentrating especially on different sport activities. Everybody can explore their abilities. Hopefully everybody will leave with lots of new experience and friends. We are also arranging half-day and whole-day trip around Czech Republic.

Rotary camp is intended for young people, 15 to 30 years old, with a physical handicap. We offer an experience to individuals with severe disabilities, that is why we also offer a PCA for each participant. Foreign participants can bring their PCA with them.

This kind of camp at the Children’s Center Březejc has been taking place since 1993. The Center is part of a Home for handicapped children and young adults Kociánka. The Center is placed in the beautiful countryside in the middle of woods (50 km from Brno) next to the pond Chlostov. All its facilities are wheelchair accessible and in summer we can use an outside swimming pool. There is a total of 45 beds available for the camp. Experienced employees of the Home for handicapped children and young adults Kociánka will arrange the programme and specialized service. PCAs will take care of individuals in all ADLs. There will be a qualified nurse at the camp. The programme includes lots of sport activities e.g. concern on boccii and cycling. You can take part in hippotherapy, group excercising, artetherapy, walks in surrounding, adventures games and other activities.

All participants have to take out their health insurance for the whole stay in Czech Republic.

Camp official languages are Czech and English.

RC Brno is inviting participants from Czech Republic and also from abroad to the Handicamp Březejc. There is no charge for foreign participants and their PCAs. You must arrange and pay your transport to Czech Republic or you can ask your local Rotary Club to help you pay for it. They can also give you some pocket money. The camp is paid by Rotary Club Brno, RI district 2240 and sponsors.
