Away Camp

Sunday 5thAugust – Friday 10th August 2017

Rosehill Equestrian, Henley on Thames

Due to the success of our camp in 2017 we have chosen to return to Rosehill Equestrian, Henley on Thames for 2018.

Facilities include

  • 3 surfaced arenas for jumping and flat work
  • Cross Country course through pasture and woodland up to 1m + including water and a variety of ditches and steps.
  • Grass arenas

The daily camp timetable includes mounted instruction – in ride groups of similar ability, stable management activities and some evening activities. There is a friendly competition suitable for all levels at the end of camp to which parents are invited. Camp will finish on Friday afternoon after clearing up and prize-giving.

Away Camp is suitable for those 12 years and over (by start date of camp) and able to lookafter their pony, fairly independently but under the stable managers supervision, as well as confidentially jumping 70cmor above. It is a requirement of camp that you attend at least one jumping rally in April or May so that we are aware of you and your pony’s level to group you accordingly, but ideally you should attend more.

Places will be available on a “first come, first served” basis upon receipt of your deposit cheque. Given the numbers we have had for the last few years we expect Camp to be oversubscribed, so please book quickly. Once full we will run a waiting list.

The cost for Camp this year is £380.00. This includes stabling with 2 bales ofbedding, tuition and food for you! To secure your place please send a cheque for £100.00, which is a NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. The balance can be spread out over the coming monthsor needs to be paid in full by 24th June 2018. Please note the cost of camp is heavily subsidised by your branch.

We will circulate further detailed information and paperwork in the late spring/early summer. As always there will be a Pre-Camp meeting prior to Camp to ensure that everyone has all the information they need. We can only run Camp with the help of volunteers. The tasks are varied and you don’t have to be horsey! This year we will also be looking for a couple of people to learn the ropes of running camp so that they can take over for 2019 (with committee support). Please contact Wendy if you would like to know more.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Wendy (Away Camp Organiser)
