ROOM USAGE POLICY FOR THE FaCET CENTER

This is a general statement of policy concerning the use of the conferences rooms located within FaCET for faculty meetings and events.. It addresses the most frequently asked questions. If clarification or exceptions are needed, please feel free to contact a member of the FaCET Center, 235-5362.

  1. Use of the FaCET conference rooms is limited to recognized UMKC faculty or UMKC sponsored groups.
  2. Scheduling preference is given to activities which support the mission statement of FaCET. These include assessment activities, teaching seminars, FaCET presentations, and FaCET related meetings. Individuals associated with FaCET (advisory board members, Grant reviewers) will also have scheduling preference for FaCET conference rooms.
  3. Reservations should be made with the Graduate Research / Administrative Assistant at least three (3) working days prior to the event. This request, submitted electronically, should include which room is desired, the date, time, and approximate number of people expected. Once received, a response to the request can be expected within 24 hours.
  4. Cancellations to any event should be made as far in advance as possible. This ensures that the conference room can be rescheduled.
  5. Food and drink is allowed in either conference room, either catered through University services or from outside sources. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the FaCET center. It is expected that the room will be left in the same condition it was prior to the event. Failure to do so will result in the inability to use the room in the future.
  6. The FaCET lounge is for use only by UMKC faculty members and their guests.
  7. The audio-visual equipment within the FaCET conference roomsmay be used by logging on by a UMKC user. Please log off and shut down the equipment after use.

  9. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the FaCET center.
  10. Because of damage to surfaces, no posters, signs, or paper may be placed on any painted wall. Easels and stands are available, if needed. Please schedule these with the Graduate Research / Administrative Assistant when requesting use of the conference room.
  11. No films or videotapes may be screened in the FaCET center unless they have a public performance license.
