Purpose of job:
To assist in successful delivery of specific programme in compliance with all British Council systems and standards.

The English Team operates in two main areas, English for Education Systems (EES) which aims to enhance systemic educational reform; and Self Access learning (SAL) which delivers English enhancement and continuing professional development to learners and teachers of English through a variety of digital means.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Programme delivery
Co-ordinate the delivery of specified project activities and undertake specified technical/support tasks (eg. liaise with account management team, manage events, communications, contacts including vendor registration and issuance of purchase orders, timesheet and invoice processing, networks, logistics, external suppliers, meetings) to meet agreed targets. Supporting digital initiatives such as the uploading and maintenance of content on social media and websites as appropriate and required as a part of programme delivery.
Ensure that relevant data for evaluation and reporting is recorded properly that includes scorecard data.
Relationship management
Assist the respective strategic business unit (SBU) team in the development and management of relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders including partners.
Develop and maintain relationships at appropriate level as needed.
Compliance and financial management
Follow British Council procedures (project, financial and risk reporting) to ensure compliance with all systems and standards (e.g. British Council records standards, Child Protection (CP) Policy, Code of Conduct, Data Protection Act, Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policy, Environmental Framework, FABS, Health and Safety Policy, procurement standards, IT standards etc) as well as any local legislation.
Admin & logistic support
Provide all necessary admin and logistics support to the respective SBU team.
Plan and organise internal and external meetings as and when required.
Prepare meeting minutes of all external and internal meetings attended as required.

  • Project co-ordinators may, from time to time, be moved to different teams/SBUs. This may be for operational reasons or to encourage continuing professional development and / or cross SBU working.
