Context

Horizons Unlimited Ltd. is a dynamic privately owned business based in Christchurch. The company contracts a number of staff to develop and deliver a variety of services. These include:

  • Adventure Education programmes
  • The GAPYear Experience - Adventure Leadership Programme
  • Emergency Care training programmes (including PHEC for Outdoor Professionals)
  • Outdoor Safety auditing and consultancy
  • Corporate Training
  • Project China

Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to provide operational, planning and administrative support to the Programme Manager and delivery team to enable the smooth running of the 2017 delivery season.

Key Responsibilities

TheOperations support person is responsible for:

  • Resource planning for the for the 2017Adventure Education delivery season including: venues, staffing, vehicles, equipment and teaching resources.
  • Supporting and leading adventure education instructors in the field.
  • Liaising with Adventure Education clients – to discuss their needs and develop relationships.
  • To quoteand sell Horizons programmes.

This involves a workload of up 5 days/week. Generally, 8 hours/day, these may be worked in shifts to suit other commitments

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Previous operations and administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of adventure/outdoor education industry
  • Outdoor qualifications and experience – NZOIA preferred.
  • Current full driver’s license.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Police clearance to work with children (we can arrange this).
