RULES
1The Judges decision is final.
2The committee accept no responsibility whatsoever for loss, injury or damage to any person or their property whilst on the Showground.
3NO nomination or substitute entries will be accepted.
4NO entry fee will be refunded. In the event of cancellation of the event a percentage may be refunded, but the remainder will be retained to cover administration.
5The Committeereserve the right to amend the schedule and to refuse entries at their discretion.
6 Objections to be lodged in writing within 30 minutes of the event, with a deposit of £50, which will be returned if the objection is upheld.
7All Challenge Cups and Trophies are perpetual and MUST be signed for at the Trophy Secretary’s Office, these are to be held for not more than one year and are to be returned to the Association on demand.
8Anyone found to be abusive in any form will be excluded from the showground.
9Stallions and colts must be adequately bitted and under control of a handler aged 18 years and over.
10Anyone found mistreating a horse or pony will be asked to leave the showground, and reported to the appropriate body.
11This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (“BSPS”) and ALL persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in the BSPS Classes, whether or not Members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.
This Show is a qualifier for the 2014 BSPS Championships show, to be held at Arena U.K.. The 1st and 2nd prizewinners in the following classes100-110, 114-116, 120-123, 127-129, 133-135,the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners in the Open Intermediate S.R.T. (including Mixed height) W.H. and S.H.T. and C.S. and Heritage Classes will qualify, in MIXED HEIGHT CLASSES the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. and 4th. placed ponies will qualify for the B.S.P.S. Championships Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rule 23 and 28 and ridden by a BSPS member.
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year, the 1st and 2nd prize winners in the Lead Rein, First Ridden OR Open Show Pony OR Open Working Hunter Pony OR Open Show Hunter Pony OROpen Intermediate WH, SRT and SH Classes will qualify. Ponies must be owned and ridden by a BSPS member to qualify.
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS“Classic Security UK. Ltd.” Challenge, the highest placed pony in the Lead Rein, First Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, Open Show Pony, Open Show Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, Open Working Hunter Pony, and the Open Intermediate SRT,SH & WH, and the Heritage Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP classes, that has not qualified for the BSPS 2014 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class, will qualify.
If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the “BSPS CHALLENGE”, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS “Black Country Saddles” Best Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in the Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Lead Rein of Hunter Type, 128cms., 138cms and 148cms Show Pony, the 122cms. 133cm., 143cms. and 153cms. SHP, the Cradle and Nursery Stakes, the 133cm., 143cms. and 153cms.WHP., the Intermediate Show Riding Type, Show Hunter and Working Hunter classes and the Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, and to the best rider 25 years and under in the Heritage Ridden and WHP classes will receive a Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championships Show.
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Show Pony, the Champion Mini WHP, the Champion Open Show Pony, the Champion Open WHP / WH and the Champion Open SHP the Champion Open Intermediate and the Champion Heritage Mini, the Champion Open Heritage Ridden and the ChampionHeritage WHP will qualify. In Mixed height Open classes the first prizewinner will qualify.
12 This Show is a qualifier for Horse of the Year Show, 8th – 13th October 2014. Only one pony in each of the three Kathleen Wood Children’s Riding Pony Classes or Underwood WHP Classes or Topham Barmes SHP Classes orLEGO Friends L.R and L.R.H.T. Classor LEGO Friends First Ridden Class or Intermediate SRT and SH. classes qualifies, and the highest placed (not already qualified) from the firstfive ponies placed in each class will qualify. Owners and riders must be BSPS, NPS,The Showing Register or P(UK) membersand the pony registered with BSPS, NPS, The Showing Register or P(UK) to compete in classes with Horse of the Year Showqualification.

13This Show is a qualifier for the NCPA Ponyof the Year Show. to be held atRodbastonCollege, Penkridge, Staffs, on Sunday7th September 2014. The first three prize winners in all appropriate classes will qualify.
All Champions and Reserve Champions will receive a Golden Ticket, which qualifiesforthe Golden Jubilee Supreme Ridden and In Hand at the NCPA Pony of the Year Show. Prizemoney at the final is 1st £500, 2nd£300, 3rd£100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25
A rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Staffordshire Branch Member in every
class, gold armbands must be worn.
NCPA Star Rosettes will be awarded in classes 16, 55, 66, and 148 . Members must enter the ring wearing a NCPA badge, and be in possession of their CURRENT YEAR’S Membership Card in the ring on receipt of the rosette. Classes marked * in schedule.
NCPA Registered Pony Rosettes will be awarded in classes 45,49,61,84,138 and 136. Red armbands MUST be worn. Classes marked # in schedule.
14 This Show is a qualifier for the PoniesAssociation (UK) 2014 Summer National
Championship Show, to be held on the 9th – 11th August 2014 at StoneleighPark,
Warwickshire. CV8 2LZ. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class will qualify.
1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in all Summer National Championships will
qualify for the 2014P(UK) Summer National Championships.
Mixed height classes1st, 2nd and 3rd qualify only.
Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of P(UK) are allowed 14 days in which tobecome members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid. The exceptionbeing any competitor qualifying at a show between 1 July and 31 July must submit their membership within 48hours after the qualifying event in order for the qualification to remain valid. Lee Smith Members are Eligible toqualify for Lee Smith finals at the Summer National Championships. Lee-Smith Competition Cards must becompleted and signed by the judge for each National Championship during the judging process of thequalifying Championship. Please apply for your Lee-Smith Competition Card on the membership form.
NO QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE PRESENTED IN THE RING
*NEW FOR 2014* Where a Confined Novice qualifier is combined within an Open class thehighest placed confined novice horse/pony wearing a white armband will qualify.
15 NPSMountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible.
Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 5th -7th August 2014.
The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show.
16 NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships.
a) NPS Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International orSports Pony section of the BRPSB. Ponies must be plaited. Classes open to mares and geldings 4 years old and over.

19 TGCA In Hand and Ridden Classes
These classes are qualifiers for the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show (TOYS) which will be
held at Keysoe EC, Bedfordshire, on 20th and 21st September 2013.
These classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. You do not need to be a current member or to have your horse registered with theTGCA in order to take part in these classes.
Qualification will go to the top 3 youngstock, top 3 up to 14hh and top 3 over 14h, provided the exhibit meets the traditional gypsy cobbreed standard (see stallion exception below).
All exhibits must be registered (passports over-stamped) and owners and handlers be fully paid up members either prior to, or within 21
days of the show date. Existing members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non members will
receive a qualification slip from the judge and will need to join the TGCA and register their horse within the 21 day timeframe in order to
validate this qualification.
All stallions (four years and over) must be licensed with the TGCA prior to the show and must display their TGCA stallion disc on their
bridle when competing in order to qualify for TOYS. Non licensed stallions may compete in the classes but are not eligible for qualification.
All stallions and colts (two years and over) must be bitted when in the ring.
Foals born in the current year are not permitted to be shown in TGCA classes, though they may be shown at TOYS.
Ridden Classes: Exhibits must be 4 years and over and comply with the above. Additional TOYS qualification is awarded to the highestplaced junior rider and the highest placed exhibitor eligible for the restricted category in the class (i.e. rider and exhibit NOT to have
qualified for Horse of the Year Show, RIHS, or been placed 1st to 3rd at any county level or in any TOYS Finals in the last 24 months). Cards need to besigned for the categories.
ANY PONY TAKING PART IS LIABLE TO DOPE TESTING
Clashing of Classes.
Whilst every endeavor has been made with the timetable to accommodate everyone, clashing is sometimes unavoidable. Therefore classes will not be held up - so please bear this in mind when entering, as entry fees are not refundable.
It is recommended that every animal at the show has third party insurance
HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Organisers will take any necessary precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of persons on the Showground. It is a condition of entry to the Showground that all persons will act on any instructions given to them by the show committee, in so far that it can affect the health and safety of all. All competitors must take due regard to section 7 of the Health and Safety Act and have due regard for the safety of others.
There is a Health and Safety Statement on display at the Secretary`s Office.
HORSE BOXES MUST NOT BE MUCKED ON THE SHOW GROUND ANYONE FOUND DROPPING LITTER WILL BE FINED £50 AND ALL FUTURE ENTRIES REFUSED
Dogs must be kept on leads at all times
Horses must not be left tied to horse boxes
Correctly secured British Standard Skull/RidingHats Nos. PAS015, EN1384 (USA) ASTMF1163 that meet current Safety Standards MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.
