Purpose
The purpose and use of the iPads, computers, Chromebooks, network and Internet is to provide additional educational resources and communication for the students and teachers at Rock Valley Christian School.
Privileges
The purpose and use of the iPads, computers, Chromebooks, network and Internet is a privilege. After reading the guidelines, please complete the form on the reverse side of this paper. Parent signatures are required for Internet use and posting.
Summary of Network and Internet Rules
When using the Rock Valley Christian School network and/or its connection to the Internet, the User must accept the responsibility to exemplify Christian behavior and communication and use it in a proper, ethical, and legal way.
The following guidelines apply to the user of the RVCS Network, the internet, and the school Google accounts, including both school-owed hardware/equipment/devices and items brought on-site by Users (cell phone, etc.). This list is not exhaustive and Administration reserves the right to modify and amend the list as seen necessary.
- Internet use will be monitored by a staff member or approved adult volunteer.
- The Internet is to be used for educational purposes. Logging onto or using inappropriate web sites is strictly prohibited. Users shall not view, download, upload, forward, print, copy or file any inappropriate content. Users are not permitted to check personal e-mail accounts, or use social media sites.
- Each User has the responsibility to report offensive material and/or security problems to his/her teacher. Attention should not be drawn to this offensive material, subjecting others to its influence.Students will receive information on internet safety through teacher guidance in each classroom that utilizes the internet as a resource.
- Each User will be issued a school account that is to be used for all educational tech-related activities. The use of another person’s account is not allowed. The school-issued account is not to be used for socially-focused communications (ex. Groups/mass emails, shared Docs for socialization).
- Users are not permitted to bully/cyberbully, harass, use inappropriate language, share personal information, such as full name, home address, phone number, password, etc., on the Internet.
- Users in Preschool-4th grade will only be allowed to use websites chosen by a teacher.
- Students may not attempt to alter or modify software configuration of the school’s computers.Physical or electronic tampering with computer resources is not permitted.
- Users must be use the resource wisely and avoid unnecessary printing.
- Students and parents are responsible for damages to electronic equipment.

Acceptable Website/Social Media Posting Policy -
Goal
The goal of the RVCS website/social media is to promote our school, inform students, parents and others about activities at Rock Valley Christian School, and provide communication between teachers and the students/parents. This website/Facebook page may be used to publish exemplary student work and pictures of school related activities.
Responsible Internet Posting
- Information and photos published on our website/Facebook must relate directly to Rock Valley Christian School.
- Teachers may create and maintain their own webpage, wiki, or blog.
- All postings must be in compliance with copyright laws.
- Images of groups of students may be posted without written consent. Signed consent is required for individuals.
- Consent forms will be signed at registration and maintained in the office.
