3D Printing - Grades 2-6 Cost: $75.00Tuesdays 3:30-5:00October 7,14,21,28,November 11,18.
(6 weeks)(No class Nov. 4th)Open the door to the future where humans will design and 3-D print out their own gadgets whenever they need them, in the comfort of their homes. Learn the basics of 3-D printing then imagine, design and print a simple 3-D object that you can take home at the end of camp. It is highly recommended that students bring their own Windows or Mac laptops/notebooks (a few machines are available for those who are not able to bring one). Older operating systems are ok (Windows XP, Vista, 7, etc) as long as they can connect wirelessly to internet and use a browser like IE, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.Class size -12Snacks will be provided
Robotics-Grades 2-6 Cost: $60.00 Tuesdays 5:15-6:45 October 7,14,21,28,November 11,18. (6 weeks) (No class Nov. 4th) Using real sensors, real computers, and real motors with the familiar Lego® look, students explore the exciting world of advanced technologies while developing teamwork skills and learning how to give a great public technical presentation in front of their families and friends. The program concludes with a fierce robotic battle when all team robots will be tested.Class size-12.
About the instructor: Sorin Achim designed award-winning, soccer-playing robots at Carnegie Mellon University and, for the last 7 years, has been developing advanced-technology educational programs for kids in collaboration with various institutions, including Penn State University.
