Robert G. “Bob” Brawley

Robert G. “Bob” Brawley was born March 22, 1933 at Birch Tree, MO the son of Noel Martin Brawley and Frances Fern (Strain) Brawley. He passed away Wednesday June 27, 2007 at his home in Auburn, KY at the age of 74 years. Bob was united in marriage to Doris Marie Cox on April 12, 1951 and to this union three children were born. He later married Shirley Ann McFarland Minnicks on November 10, 1990 at Auburn, KY. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Doris (Cox) Brawley. Bob is survived by his wife Shirley Brawley of Auburn, KY; three daughters Belinda Miller of Beaverton, OR, Cathy Rosner and husband Gary of Beaverton, OR and Mary Brawley of Woodson Terrace, MO; one stepson Tony Minnicks and wife Sheila of Virginia Beach, VA; one stepdaughter Sonia Summer Hutcheson and husband David of Auburn, KY; nine grandchildren Robert J. Brawley, Jerry Rosner, Jennifer Rosner, T.J. Minnicks, Brittany Sumner, Kayla Sumner, Joe Rosner, Christian Hutcheson, and Ryan Brawley; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was assigned to the Atlas Missile Program after the war. Bob was employed at General Motors until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Masons and belonged to the Eminence Masonic Lodge No. 607 AF & AM. Bob was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Auburn, KY. Visitation was held Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Young Funeral chapel in Auburn, KY with Masonic Services at 7PM. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel in Auburn, KY with Bro. Scott Cassady officiating. Graveside Services were held Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 2PM in Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Davis officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree, MO.
