Ballot for berthing of tenders on public jetties - 2016

There are 8 tender berths available on the Harbour Master’s Jetty in Warsash and 6 on the public jetty in Hamble. These will be allocated by ballot on Monday 21stMarch 2016during the River Hamble Annual Forum to be held at 1930 at Warsash Sailing Club, Shore Road, Warsash. Two separate ballots will be held – one for Hamble Jetty and one for Warsash Jetty. Applicants must express a preference for one only. No one may enter both ballots and multiple entries will not be allowed (ie only one application per person or vessel); failure to adhere will result in all that applicant’s or vessel’s entries being removed from the ballots.

Those who are successful in the ballot will be allocated a space for a one-year period (1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017) on the appropriate jetty. Tenders must be removed at the end of this period. Berths will be free of charge, but conditional upon the following:

  • Tenders must be a maximum of 4 metres length overall with an engine not exceeding 10hp.
  • Tenders must bear the name of the designated ‘mother ship’.
  • Owners must register their contact details at the Harbour Office.
  • Harbour Dues for the ‘mother ship’ must be paid and a Harbour Dues sticker displayed on the ‘mother ship’.
  • Tenders mustbe berthed in the designated area on each jetty.
  • Tenders must be adequately fendered and secured (to the horse rail only) by a painter at least as long as the tender. Security wires or chains must also be at least as long as the tender.
  • Tenders must be kept reasonably free of water. The Harbour Authority is not be responsible for pumping out of tenders.
  • Tender berths allocated in the ballots are non-transferable.
  • The Harbour Authority accepts no liability for tenders.
  • Tenders which fail to conform to the above will be removed.

Applications must be received not later than 1630 on 14th March 2016. Applications received after this time will not be included in the ballots.
