How does your organisation make sure that the control is implemented?
Stranger Danger (all participants).
Lost child (all participants)
Trips, falls etc (all participants)
Road traffic accident.
Adverse weather / Members of public excluded from stadium, Exits either locked or closely marshalled.
Circulation and movement within the stadium strictly controlled and marshalled at all times.
All schools aware of toileting arrangements (always in groups, always accompanied by staff)
Schools allocated to a specific ‘zone’ within the stadium
All students briefed about their spectator zone and the arrangements to participate in ‘on pitch’ activities.
‘Lost person’ contact point, permanently marshalled.
Schools aware via site map of location of steps, slopes, ramps, toilets etc.
Students briefed about walking safely to their event, to the toilet etc.
Schools aware of any medical issues via parental consent.
All ‘mass participation’ activities are non-hazardous
Construction and dismantling of stage area, P.A. systems etc to take place before students arrive and after they leave
Schools pre-arrange their transport with reputable provider.
Local Authority to liaise with Transport providers, Police and Highways section to ensure maximum student safety on entering and exiting the stadium.
Movement of vehicles inside the stadium strictly marshalled and controlled to ensure student safety.
In the event of rain, site inspected for suitability for particular events. If necessary, particular activities cancelled or modified.
Schools reminded about the need to take appropriate precautions for very hot weather (appropriate clothing, headwear, sun cream etc). / Full complement of stadium stewards deployed.
Close direct supervision by school staff, at all times.
Schools pre-informed of their allocated zone within the stadium, the extent of their participation in the mass events on pitch, and the arrangements to control the movement of students within the stadium.
Additional First Aid cover provided by West Yorkshire Ambulance Service and St John’s Ambulance Brigade.
School protocols re use of transport strictly adhered to (use of seat belts, deployment of students and staff on the bus, no movement once vehicle in motion, embarkation and disembarkation of vehicle) strictly adhered to.
