Section 1.0Samples/Prototypes (Mandatory Requirement)

1.1 / To assist the City with evaluating the Carts, each Respondent is required to provide one (1) sample of each size of prototype Cart, and each prototype Cartshould be of the same mould and match the specifications as closely as possible and should be at no cost to the City, as part of the submission to this RFP.
Failure to provide a sample will result in the disqualification of a Proposal from further evaluation consideration.
Confirm samples to be delivered no later than seven (7) business days after submission deadline.

5.3 / MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION
.1 / The body of the container should be manufactured from medium or high density polyethylene. Container body below the lid should be one piece and be either rotationally or injection molded. Ultraviolet stabilizers and other additives will be hot melt compounded into the base material. The containers will have a minimum nominal wall thickness of 0.150 inches (0.150”).

Wheels and axles should be rated to meet and exceed the Cart design requirements of 3.5 pounds per US Gal. Capacity.
Tread width for all wheels for Carts should be no less than 1.75” and have a knobby tread. Preferences may be given to solid rubber-tread tires.
Wheels should be snap on style. Wheels that require the use of pal nuts, washers or other means of connection will be considered unacceptable.
Wheels are to be the same size and interchangeable with Carts of the same capacity.
Wheels for 80 litre should have a diameter of no less than 8 inches.
Wheels for 100 litre should have a diameter of no less than 8 inches.
Wheels for 120 litre/240 litre/360 litre should have a diameter of no less than 10 inches.
