Revision Tasks for 2 Page assignment:

For this “revision” I want you to think about how this piece that you wrote last night for homework will fit into your larger paper? I would like you to visually map out how you think this paper will look! We will be in the Library on Wednesday finding scholarly articles that support your topic.

Paper 3 Assignment:

You will be writing your 5-6 page final paper about this topic or problem that you research. This problem should lend itself to research and be something that you can propose a reasonable solution to. Part of the paper should be devoted to establishing that your problem does, in fact, exist. That means that the problem doesn’t have to be readily apparent to most people. In order to propose a solution, you’ll need to establish key causes of the issue. From there, you can propose your solution and evaluate it, explaining what the best possible approach to the problem could be for the time, place, and people involved.

Task 1 – Draw Me a Picture

  1. At the top of a sheet of paper write the main question(s) that you will try to answer in your paper.
  2. Use the sheet of paper to draw out the rest of your argument (you are not being graded on your drawing skills or map). You can choose any form of drawing or mapping you would like.
  3. Think about all of the requirements of this paper and make sure that they are represented in some way. Please be sure to include them visually.
  4. Don’t forget that part of your conclusion should include some solutions to this problem!

Task 2 – I Can’t Write 5 Pages!!

  1. On a separate sheet of paper write out what your main idea/topic is for this paper.
  2. Now in different words rewrite what the argument is again 2 times. “In other words I want to prove…” and “In other words I am passionate about…because…”
  3. What are some examples that shows that your issue exists? “Example 1, Example 2, Example 3…”
  4. What questions would someone have about this issue? “Question 1, Question 2, and Question 3…”
  5. What counter arguments might someone have about your issue? “Opposing Point 1 and Opposing Point 2…”
  6. What organizations also know about your issue?
  7. If your concept is true, what else might be true? “Idea 1, Idea 2”
