Background and Tasks
UNESCO Cairo Office received a request from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) to provide technical assistant and support in reviewing the new curriculum framework for technical education, which is planned to take effect starting the coming academic year (2018/ 2019).
To this end, UNESCO Cairo Office is seeking to recruit an international expert or an international consulting firm specialized in technical education to carry out the following tasks:
- Review and finalize the new curriculum framework prepared by MoETE.
- Incorporate in the new curriculum framework international best practices and ensure it embeds 21stcentury skills, along with the hard technical skills.
- Map out the different soft skills to be integrated in the new curriculum framework that is based on the cross/ interdisciplinary approach.
The new curriculum framework and allrelevant documents are to be provided by MoETE, and are available in both Arabic and English.
Due to the tight timeframe, this assignment in its entirety is expected to be carried out by the consultant or consulting firm remotely. No missions to Egypt will be required. Alternatively, the consultant/ consulting firmwill be requested to hold Skype conference calls with both UNESCO and MoETE concerned staff before, during, and at the end of the assignment to ensure alignment with the assignment goals and MoETE’s vision in this regard.
Timeframe
This assignment is to be mobilized soonest due itsurgent nature. The selected consultant/ consulting firm should be ready and available to complete the assignment on or before June 15th, 2018.
