Bias and Sensitivity Reviewers' Task
1.Ask yourself: “Does the item present any potential bias, sensitivity, or barriers to Kansas students?”
2.If the answer is “yes,” advise CETE on what should happen to the item.
- Which bias codes may apply?
- Can the item be revised to address this target? How?
- Can the item be realigned to another target? Which one?
- Should the item be rejected? Why?
Process in the Review Management System
For each item or passage in a review collection:
- Review the item or passage.
- Select "Accept," "Revise," or "Reject."
- If you select "Revise" or "Reject," please provide a very specific explanation for why the item should be revised or rejected in the “Comments Section.”
- If you select “Accept”, you do not need to enter a code of 0.
- Click "Save."
- Click "Next Item."
- Click "Yes."
- Repeat steps 1-5 for the next item
