Reverse Raffle Official Rules

Unlike a typical raffle, in a Reverse Raffle the purchaser of the last ticket drawn wins the Grand Prize.

  1. Up to $3,000 in Prizes will be awarded on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Rotary Club of Warren’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.
  2. The event is open to the public.
  3. Reverse Raffle Tickets cost $100.00 each. The ticket price is tax deductible.
  4. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a Ticket.
  5. A maximum of 200 tickets will be sold.
  6. A minimum of 150 tickets must be sold for the$3,000 to be awarded. If fewer than 150 tickets are sold, the Prizesawarded will total20% of the gross proceeds and the amounts noted below will be adjusted. The minimum total prize amount is $1,500.
  7. Gross proceeds are defined as the total number of tickets sold at $100.00 per ticket.
  8. A Ticket is considered purchased when complete payment ($100.00) has been received andrecorded by the Reverse Raffle Chairperson or the Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Warren.
  9. Ticket sales will endno later than7:00pm on Saturday, January27, 2017.
  10. Tickets will be drawn throughout the course of the evening. The 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th, 100th, 110th, 120th 130th, 140th, 150th, 160th, 170th, 180th, and 190thtickets drawn will receive a Prize. If less than 200 tickets are sold, the number of prizes awarded will be adjusted accordingly. The value of each prize will be determined in advance by the Reverse Raffle Chair.
  11. The final fiveTicket Owners will be asked to come forward. Those five Ticket Owners will have the opportunity to decide whether to continue with the raffle or split the $3,000 Prize equally. If after a secret ballot there is agreement among all five, the $3,000 will be divided between the five Ticket Owners (each receiving $600). If even one person does not want to split the Prize, the raffle will continue. The Ticket Owners of the final five tickets, every tenth ticket, and Early Bird Drawings (see below) need not be present in order to win however if during the final drawings, the Ticket Owner of any ticket not yet drawn is not present, the raffle will continue.
  12. Before each remaining ticket is drawn, the remaining Ticket Owners will again be polled by secret ballot and the rules noted above will apply.
  13. If the raffle continues, the 196th ticket drawn will receive $200 and the remaining four Ticket Holders will decide whether to continue the raffle or to split the remaining $2,800 equally (each receiving $700).
  14. If the raffle continues, the 197th ticket drawn will receive $250 and the remaining three Ticket Holders will decide whether to continue the raffle or to split the remaining $2,550 equally (each receiving $850).
  15. If the raffle continues, the 198th ticket drawn will receive $350 and the remaining two Ticket Holders will decide whether to continue the raffle or to split the remaining $2,200 equally (each receiving $1,100).
  16. If the raffle continues, the 199th ticket drawn will receive $700 and the remaining Ticket Holder will receive the Grand Prize of $1,500.
  17. Two Early Bird Drawings of $100 each will occur on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 and Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at noon at the Rotary Club of Warren’s regular weekly meeting. Winning Early Bird tickets will be re-entered for participation in the drawings on January 27, 2018.
  18. Businesses, companies and non-profit organizations may purchase a ticket, or several people canshare the cost of a ticket however one person must be named as the Ticket Owner. The Ticket Owner controls the ticket and isresponsible for making the decision to split the Prize with the other finalists.
  19. Prizes willbe awarded to the Ticket Owners who are responsible for sharing the proceeds with any other parties.
  20. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes due on the awards.
  21. In the event of a dispute or controversy, Andy Bednar, President of the Rotary Club of Warren, will rule.
