TARC Senior Resident Information.
Hello and thank you for showing an interest in becoming part of our TARC/SLIIT Senior Residents team.
Sheffield Hallam University's Residential Support Service is aimed at providing a safe, secure and enjoyable place for our students to live and study.
As part of the service we are responsible for helping with many of the issues that international students experience whilst studying at SHU including their health and wellbeing and to ensure they are aware of the support services that are available should they need them.
This is why we recruit the Senior Residents.
Our Senior Residents are based in halls of residence alongside the students.
We want you to support the students, get to know them, work with our students services department and Students Unionto organise and promote social events and work with the staff in the residences to help us provide and support the experience of living in halls of residence in the UK.
This might include:
- Helping handling keys and welcoming students on arrival day
- Understanding and steering students to the University's support network
- Keeping and eye out and getting your face known as someone the students can approach for help.
- Helping identify those students who need additional assistance
- Being a friend, a helping hand and a listening ear!
To apply for the opportunity to join the Senior Resident Team in the Sheffield Hallam Halls please complete and return the attached application as soon as possible and return it with a copy of your CV and a covering letter stating why you want to apply to join the team to the address below.
In return the successful students will receive free rent for a room in the hall and a reference if requested to help make your CV stand out when you are applying for that dream job!
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you, and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Cheers
Lee Mansell
