Installing and Programming AT&T RET Motors

STEPS:

1)  Daisy Chain all motors to homerun back to CCU.

2)  Connect Computer to CCU.

3)  Update CCU.

4)  Pre-CCU Report

5)  Swap Antennas and Import RETs

6)  Name RET motors

7)  Setting Tilts

8)  Post-CCU Report

9)  RET Worksheet

10)  Final Configurations


STEP #1: Daisy Chain all RET motors to homerun and back to CCU.

Daisy chain to Home Run

STEP #2: Connect Computer to CCU.

Adjust Network Settings to Access Kathrein CCU

1.  Click Start, Control Panel

2.  Double Click on Network Connections

3.  Right Click on your Enabled Local Area Connection and select Properties (Note, Do NOT click on VPN adapter connection)

4.  On the General Tab, scroll down and select Internet Protocol [TCP/IP] and click Properties.

5.  Click in button “Use the following IP address:” and enter the IP address as shown below and select OK.

6.  Click on your Internet Explorer, select “Tools”, select “Internet Options”, select “Connections” tab, select “LAN Settings”

7.  Disable Automatically detect settings, select Use automatic configuration script and disable Proxy server and select OK.

8.  Type http://192.168.249.249/ in your internet browser.

9.  The Kathrein log in window appears. Leave User name blank and type kathrein for the Password.

10.  After the Kathrein software opens up, Select the right most tab “Software Update”


STEP #3: Update CCU.

STEP #4: Pre-CCU Report

STEP #5: Swap Antennas and Import RETs

STEP #6: Name RET motors

Sector ID = [USID][Sector]--[Position][Band][Technology]

·  USID = xxxxxx

·  Sector = A/B/C/D

·  Position = 1/2/3/4

·  Band = 7 – 700, 8 – 850, 9 – 1900, 2 – 2100, W – WCS(2300)

·  Technology = G – GSM, U – UMTS, L – LTE

STEP #7: Setting Tilts


STEP #8: Post-CCU Report

ALL SITES – Must keep existing tilts from Pre-CCU report. Only set new LTE frequency tilts per RFDS.

*Note* - 3C Sites – when consolidating UMTS/GSM we MUST remember that we are swapping antenna positions and need to keep existing tilt values.
