Here is a list of some of our recommendations for restaurants and shopping for Lima and Cusco. Please keep in mind that this list is just a small selection of our personal preferred restaurants and shops and that with such a booming culinary and artisanal culture new options arise with frequency. Please let us know if you would like us to make any restaurant reservations. Especially for Lima this is important as the trendy restaurants often book months in advance.

Central (D`Auteur Cuisine)

Voted #5 of the 50 best restaurants in the world 2017, Central is a pioneer of molecular gastronomy, the experimental culinary science. Utilizing an eclectic mix of Peruvian ingredients harvested from every altitudinal level in Peru, Central´s Virgilio Martinez delivers a dining experience you won´t forget.

In what was once a mechanic´s workshop, Rafael Osterling brings his latest restaurant concept to life. Toshiro Sushi Bar (Peruvian Japanese)

Owner Toshiro Konishi arrived in Peru 33 years ago with the intention of passing on his ancestral Japanese gastronomy, and ended up experiencing too much success to leave.

Huaca Pucllana (great view, Peruvian cuisine)

This beautiful restaurant and bar serves excellent Andean cuisine, but is best known for its breathtaking location, nestled inside the grounds of a 1,500-year-old Pre-Incan ruin. The ancient adobe pyramid is spectacularly lit at night, providing an exquisite backdrop to a traditional meal. After dinner, you are welcome to explore the ruins.

Santo Domingo Convent Museum

Dating back to the end of the 16th century, this church boasts some of the oldest and most impressive religious architecture in Lima, and the city´s only “real” steeple.

Ruins of Pachacamac

Located approximately 40 minutes south of Lima, Pachacamac is the remains of a large pre-Inca city. The site has many pyramids and plazas, and was of great importance to native religions.
