Set-up /Tear-down:Set-up may begin any time after 10 a.m. on the day

of the event. All soup stations must be ready when

the doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Clean-up/tear-down can take place as soon as the event

is over.

Event Overview:The event will be open to the public – no age restrictions.

Ticket prices are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at both Woodstock Scotiabank locations: 485 Dundas Street and 385 Springbank Ave. (at Devonshire)

Scotiabank will match the total amount of money collected from ticket sales at the two branches.

Admission tickets will include a number of tasting coupons

to be redeemed at the soup stations for a soup sample (one coupon per sample). Samples will be served in four ounce disposable bowls.

Additional tasting coupons may be purchased.

Bread/crackers and water will be provided at stations around the room.

Throughout the event, draws will take place for door prizes and announcements will be made periodically recognizing the participating restaurants and sponsors.

Heart FM (radio station 104.7) will broadcast live from the banquet room during the event.

Competition/Judging:In addition to helping raise funds for DASO and promoting their

respective restaurants/establishments, the participants will be part of a friendly competition – vying for bragging rights for the best soup – as determined by a panel of judges (to be determined) and the“Golden Ladle” award.

There will also be a “People’s Choice” award; attendees will be given ballots and can vote for their favourites.

Event Proceeds:All proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and donations will go

to Domestic Abuse Services Oxford in support of programs and

services for women and children in Oxford County impacted by domestic abuse and/or homelessness.

Restaurants to Supply:

  • Pre-made soup: approx.25-30litres(There will be no access to kitchen facilities at the venue.)
  • Heating and serving equipment such as chafing dishes, crock pots etc. (electric heat source, butane canisters or Sterno)
  • Representative(s) to supervise station and serve soup (chef, manager, cook, employee, volunteer)
  • Restaurant logo in electronic form (for promotional material)
  • Name/type of soup

(This will be kept confidential. If more than two restaurants are preparing similar soups, we will provide an opportunity for participants to choose another type.)

  • Ingredient list (may be requested by the Health Board, or individuals with food allergies)
  • Participating restaurants/establishments are also encouraged to bring promotional material (e.g. signs, menus, coupons). But no items for sale please.
  • If desired, tables may be decorated (flowers, displays etc.)in keeping with the restaurant and/or type of soup offered
  • A donation for the prize draws (see next page) would be appreciated.

DASO / Quality Hotel to Supply:

  • Display \ serving tables
  • Electrical outlets and extension cord if required
  • Tablecloths
  • Water
  • Bread, buns, crackers
  • 4 oz disposable soup bowls
  • Disposable spoons
  • Napkins
  • Public and media recognition – prior to, during and after the event – on posters, print ads, radio promotions, display boards, website pages, social media etc.
  • Volunteer assistance during the event (e.g. to replenish bowls, spoons, etc.)

Draw Prizes: Admission tickets will include a tear-off portion that can be filled in

and entered in the draw for prizes. Prizes will include those donated by the participating restaurants – e.g. certificates for free lunches or dinners, gift baskets, etc.
