Position Title: / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / Community Corrections Office
Position Summary: /
  • Responsible for: coordinating office operations; providing administrative support to department personnel; overseeing departmental drug testing program; and supervising, training, and evaluating legal secretaries and other assigned staff.
  • Responsible for monitoring office supply levels and completing supply orders.
  • In absence of the Office Administrator, fulfills job duties of the Office Administrator, including: monitoring office operations, balancing workloads, covering for absences and assisting departmental employees as needed; assures professional and efficient operation of Support Staff, including coordinating large projects, assuring completion of priority jobs, filling in/assisting where necessary.
  • Approves and coordinates work schedules for assigned staff. Arranges for staff coverage for absent staff members' duties. Resolves staff scheduling conflicts.
  • Participates in interviewing applicants.

Qualifications: /
  • Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent/relevant experience working in a professional office required.
  • Cashier, bank teller, or previous bookkeeping experience required.
  • Computer experience required (Microsoft Office Suite). Working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) other computer programs.
  • Must have proven ability to effectively supervise assigned personnel, including communicating policies/procedures, providing training, planning/delegating work assignments, establishing work goals, evaluating job performance, maintaining discipline, and implementing corrective action as warranted.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the public.
  • Exceptional organizational skills required with ability to organize several duties and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Must be cross-trained and have skills to perform duties of Administrative Assistant/Curry Building and Office Administrator.

Salary: / Full time 35 hours/week. Monroe County Government fringe benefits.
Starts February 7, 2016.
2016Salary: $32,374 to $36,039 (based on years of experience with Monroe County Government, education, professional experience and training).

Community Corrections Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed holidays.
