Colorado Early Colleges – Parker, CO

Our early college high school in Parker is about to enter its third year serving students from Parker and several surrounding towns and cities. Consider joining us for school year ’16 – ’17, starting no later than January 9, 2017!

CECP is a free public charter school, enrolling students into the best starting point for them academically. That starting point is based on a placement test, not an admissions screening test. Students of all abilities are able to begin a new kind of high school experience with us, knowing they will be supported throughout their time here by a staff of creative and student-focused people who all want them to succeed in school and in life.

Our students come to us with a wide range of interests and capabilities. We have a team of academic and career advisors who work closely with students, parents, educational support staff, and teachers to assist the student in defining their goals and the pathway to achieving those goals. Each student is able to experience shared control over their educational and career goals through this collaborative approach that is core to our mission of service to the students.

We offer a high school and early college experience that is different than other programs in Colorado with similar names. Our website is parker.coloradoearlycolleges.org. The website for our governing organization is coloradoearlycolleges.org. Please take a look to learn more how we started, our successes, and our plans for the future.

Our Mission Statement guides us in all we do: “All students, regardless of background or skill level, will have the opportunity to pursue a growth mindset that will allow them to achieve mastery and to demonstrate they can succeed in school, in college, and in their chosen career. No exceptions. No excuses.”

We hire experienced teachers and those working on their teacher certifications who have at least one year of teaching experience. Our school culture is defined by collaboration and mutual support across the different instructional focus areas, educational support personnel, advising, and school administration. We also like to have fun as a team and with the students, so you will hear laughter, see lots of positive interaction going on between the students, notice that teachers and students have informal interactions during voluntary study sessions and advising appointments… and maybe you would find yourself participating in a pie throwing contest, bake sale, taking students on a field trip, or coaching a drama or other student-interest group!

It is very important for us to know that you want to join a team that can count on these behaviors from each other, so please be sure this is the kind of school culture you can embrace and where you will thrive:

  • We perform all duties with dedication and commitment, being guided by CEC’s mission statement and the Student Bill of Rights.
  • We are committed to the highest level of excellence in serving our students, recognizing that the role of each person who works here is crucial to our students’ abilities to reach their goals.
  • We behave at all times in keeping with the integrity and mission of Colorado Early Colleges.
