Response to Harper Lee’s Last Interview
Read the transcript of Harper Lee’s last interview. You can also find the text on my teacher page. Write a personal response/reflection to the interview and post it on fmsenglish.wikispaces.com under the correct discussion as explained in class. Your response should contain at least 200 words. (Reminder: Draft your response in Word and choose “word count” under the “tools” tab.)
Your response is not limited to, but should include at least one of the following:
· Lee’s feelings concerning fame and the popularity of the novel
· Lee’s view on how Southern life contrasts with “New England” life
· The movie version of the novel
· Speculate concerning her comments about writing another novel since currently only one novel by Lee exists
· Lee’s comments concerning what she deplores about American writing
· Lee’s comments concerning what she thinks is good about American writing
· Lee’s comments concerning those who hope to become writers
· Lee’s comments concerning critics and reviewers of books
· Lee’s objectives as a writer
