Responding to; ‘A Vision for Change’

‘A Vision for Change’ has been written by the Stonewall Trans Advisory Group (STAG), and supported by Stonewall, to cover a broad range of issues affecting trans people. This includes education, hate crime, healthcare, and recognition. Alongside the issues STAG have identified the vital changes that need to happen to secure acceptance and equality for trans people, and they have looked at the actions Stonewall can take to address them. Stonewall has committed to take action in line with those issues.

The Stonewall Trans Advisory Group wants to hear your views on the document. They will use all the feedback they receive to draw out key themes and issues, and to ensure that ‘A Vision for Change’ fully reflects the experiences of trans people and their desire for change.

Below are a series of questions to consider. Please use these as a guide.

You will be able to respond to ‘A Vision for Change’ in a number of ways. Everyone can respond by phone, email and post, and there will also be consultation events for trans people taking place across Britain. We will be able to accept responses between 13th and 26th February 2017. To submit a response, please use the following:

At the moment, ‘A Vision for Change’ is intended to cover England and Wales. After discussions with the Scottish Transgender Alliance it was agreed that the consultations would be open to trans people in Scotland also. The Stonewall Trans Advisory Group wants to hear their views as to whether or not ‘A Vision for Change’ should include Scotland in future. There will be the opportunity for Scottish trans people to suggest how Scotland can be included.
