RESOLUTION #14-236

AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF FIRE TRUCK

UNDER STATE CONTRACT

PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12a

WHEREAS, the Township of Raritan, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12a and N.J.A.C. 5:34-7.29(c), may by resolution and without advertising for bids, purchase any goods or services under the State of New Jersey Cooperative Purchasing Program for any State contracts entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Raritan has the need to purchase a fire truckutilizing State contract Number A83457 awarded to Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., 2600 American Drive, P.O. Box 2017, Appleton, WI. 54913-2017; and

WHEREAS,the Raritan Township Fire Company requested permission from the Township Committee to incur additional costs and expenses and change orders for the fire truck provided that the Raritan Township Fire Company is solely responsible for those costs and expensesabove the amount of the contract award to be made by the Township Committee, and that Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., acknowledges that the Fire Department is solely responsible for those costs and expenses.

WHEREAS,the Chief Financial Officer has determined that sufficient funds are available as evidenced by Certification #14-38attached hereto.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Township Committee of the Township of Raritan authorizes the purchase of a Pierce Model 708 Arrow XT 100 Ft Ladder Truck in accordance with the proposal dated November 3, 2014 as follows:

Base Price$780,667.00

State Contract Published Options 123,860.89

Total$904,527.89

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Raritan Township Fire Company is authorized to incur additional costs and expenses and change orders for the fire truck provided that the Raritan Township Fire Company is solely responsible for those costs and expensesabove $904,527.89, and that Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., acknowledges that the Fire Department is solely responsible for those costs and expenses and that the title of the vehicle will be in the name of the Township of Raritan, One Municipal Drive, Flemington, N.J. 08822.
