- Please describe why you are interested in returning to the Resident Assistant position for the 2018-2019 academic year.
- In what ways would you like to continue to develop as an RA? Please address the specific skills or experiences you would like to gain if selected to be an RA.
- Please describe how you believe you are perceived by your current residents? What would they identify as your strengths and/or areas for development?
- Please describe what you look for in a supervisor.
- Please give an example of a situation you mediated successfully as an RA. What steps did you follow to mediate this situation, and what was the related outcome?
- Please give an example of a challenge you’ve faced as an RA. How did you manage the challenge, what campus resources did you utilize, and how has it shaped your interest in returning to the position.
- Please give a detailed example of a program you developed and hosted for your residents. This program could be hosted by you alone or in collaboration with other RAs. What steps did you follow during the planning and execution of the program? What did your residents learn or gain from the program?
- Please give an example of a situation where you had to enforce college policy. What was the situation, what policy was not being followed, and how did you address it with your residents? What was the outcome? Would you do anything differently?
- Being an RA can be emotionally and socially draining; the position adds another layer of responsibilities to the already-busy life on a Swarthmore student. Please reflect on (a) how you currently manage academic, extracurricular and personal commitments to maintain personal wellness and (b) how you anticipate handling the additional responsibilities of the RA position. Are there any lifestyle changes you would need to make in order to accommodate life as an RA?

- Diversity and inclusion is an important value of both Swarthmore and the Office of Student Engagement. How has diversity and inclusion made an impact in your community? As an RA, how will you continue to promote diversity and inclusion in your community?
- Please give an example of a situation you handled involving a situation that involve alcohol or drugs. How did you handle the situation? As a returning RA, how will you lead the new RAs on your dorm team on becoming comfortable addressing situations involving drugs and/or alcohol?
