Applications are due by the time, date, and location listed in the job posting. Candidates must successfully pass each major testing area to be eligible to proceed with the process. Those major testing areas include: the preliminary screening of applications, physical agility test, CWH exam, and Interview. Conditional offers of employment are dependent upon successful completion ofa psychological evaluation,medical exam, (including urinary analysis), and background checks. The City of Glenwood Springs adheres to federal law regarding the use of illegal substances.
Applicants must live within a 30 mile radius of the intersection of 8th St. and Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs. Total travel time cannot exceed 40 minutes at posted driving speeds. Successful candidates who do not meet this requirement will be required to relocate within a period of six months from the date of hire.
All events will happen at GSFD station 2, 806 Cooper Avenue, Glenwood Springs unless otherwise noted.
*One 8 hour ride along session per candidate is highly recommended during the time frame from March 19th to April 14th. Call 970-384-6480 Monday through Friday between the hours of 0800-1600 to schedule an appointment.
**All CWH testing will occur on the times and dates listed in the reserve hiring schedule. Candidates must attend oneCWH testing session offered by GSFD, or have taken a valid CHW test within the year 2012 and achieved a 75% or greater score. Additional information about CWH may be found at
