Research Officer Position – Wagga Wagga

We conduct field evaluation and product development work in the form of efficacy, crop safety and plant breeding trials, and research project management. Work is conducted in the broadacre, viticultural and horticultural segments.

Due to asignificant expansion in this business, AgXtra isseeking to appoint an experienced Research Officerto be based at our office in Wagga Wagga, NSW. The Research Officer is both a functional and leadership role within our existing research team, and will ensure the effective and efficient planning, conduct and reporting of applied field research projects.

The Research Officer will have responsibility for the quality, standard and delivery of the applied research program, as well as for the maintenance of a range of customer relationships. The Research Officer will also be expected to interact with, and provide leadership to, our technical team and casual staff.

As directed by AgXtra Management, and/or other Research Officers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients, agricultural industry representatives and organisations, other researchers, growers and the AgXtra team.
  • Plan, conduct and coordinate research activities in key crops throughout your region.
  • Overseeand supervise the maintenance of plant and equipment, as well as the application of best practice agronomy in research trials.
  • Contribute to the ongoing developmentof systems and procedures.

  • Understanding of, and demonstrated experience in, field crop agronomy.

  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to participate in, and contribute to, team objectives.
  • A current Drivers License.
