RESEARCH NETWORKING GRANT APPLICATION FORM
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RESEARCH NETWORKING SCHEME2017-18
The Research Networking Scheme will provide for up to five annual grants of c. €1000 each for purposes of research collaboration.
Through this scheme, the College encourages individuals / small groups to apply for travel / subsistence support on a competitive basis for purposes of preparing collaborative funding applications to external agencies, and/or to engage in formal networks that will help to advance competitive research proposals for external funding and lead to participation in large-scale international / national funded research projects.
The purpose of the Research Networking Scheme is to facilitate researchnot currently funded by external sources, while laying the groundwork for larger-scale research projects that may be competitive for external funding in the near future. Projects applying for seed funding should be innovative, in line with the college’s strategic mission, and have strong potential for acquiring future funding from external sources.This will be funded through the existing seed funding scheme replacing ‘Inter-institutional Links’.
Proposals for Networking Grants should identify the external agency and programme to which a future proposal will be submitted and provide a timeline for submission to the nominated external agency.
Applications are processed within the RGSO, with final approval provided by the Associate VP for Research on behalf of the Research Committee.
Appeals may be made in writing to the Associate Vice President for Research / the Research Committee.
Where an appeal is lodged, final decisions will be made by the Research Committee.
