REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RECEIPT OF IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS TO

UNRWABY TRANSIT THROUGH JORDAN TOGAZA

UNRWA welcomes any contribution towards the relief effort in Gaza and is looking forward to cooperate with Donors in this regard. Based on the assessments conducted by UNRWA in Gazaa list of items have been identified and prioritized according to needs. Donors wishing to donate are kindly requested to consider the Priorities List and follow the steps outlined below to ensure the donation reaches those in need in an effective and timely manner. Donations originating from outside Jordan which do not need to transit Jordan should be coordinated with the United Nations Logistics Cluster in Jerusalem

  1. A formal letter must be addressed to UNRWA announcing the items,of comprising the donation, to the addresses below. Please also provide the JHCO and the GECC inAmman with a copy of the letter and Packing List if the Shipment has to be sent via Jordan
  1. Only items listed in the attached ‘List of Priorities for In-kind Contributions’ can be accepted by UNRWA.
  1. The following documentationand information needs to submitted with the formal letter:
  1. A detailed packing list with full description, quantities, weights and packing together with details Manufacturing date [if available] and Expiry date [mandatory especially for medicines].
  2. Minimum Shelf life of one year.
  3. A Certificate of Origin [Must not be Iran, Lebanon or Syria or they will be rejected]
  4. A Certificate of Health
  5. A Non-commercial invoice
  6. Proposed Departure and Arrival dates
  7. Proposed Transport from port/airport to JHCO Warehouse[s]
  1. Only in-kind contributions formally accepted by UNRWA will be handled for further transport.

Financial Implications

  1. The Donor assumes the responsibility of delivering the material via the relevant land border crossing to JHCO Warehouses. If delivery is to a port or airport, JHCO will arrange collection by prior agreement.
  1. The Donor also assumes the cost involved in the transportation, handling and tracking of the donated material from the respective border crossing to Gaza. This part will be executed by the JHCO and costs from JHCO Warehouses to Gaza is approximately $2,310 per trailer [approximately16MT] , depending on the current exchange rate– please see thepallet specifications below. Additional charges may apply.

Notifications

  1. The date of transport to Gaza will be determined by the JHCO depending on the priority needs in Gaza and the capacity at the border crossing. Thus the date of transport cannot be determined accurately beforehand as the above factors are constantly changing. The donor will be informed 24-48 hours before transport begins.
  1. Please note that JHCOwill provide the necessary re-palletisation service and storagesubject to JHCO’s capabilities.

Pallets specifications:

  1. All cargo must be received palletised
  2. Maximum pallet height of 1.6m (including the pallet)
  3. Maximum weight of the pallet 1.2 MT
  4. Maximum size of pallet footprint is 1.2m x 1.0m

Labelling:

Only shipments bearing the UNRWA/JHCO labels can be currently be assured of entry into Gazavia Jordan.
