1.) The ability profile of MELBA is used to document a person’s activity-related mental abilities. These abilities are documented on profile sheets according to a scale of 5. Each attribute is defined, so that a standardized description of the attributes is ensured.

2.) Theactivityprofileis used to document the requirements of a specific activity. The very same attributes that are used to document a person’s abilities serve to describe the requirements of an activity. Analogous to the abilities, each attribute is defined and can be evaluatedaccording to a scale of 5. Using this profile it is possible to describe the requirements of any activity, independent of thedomainoroccupational fieldan activitybelongs to.

3.) After establishingability and requirement profiles, a profile comparison with regard to various questions can be conducted. As the sheets are composed identically, they can be compared simply by just putting them on top of each other,as is possible with the printed version. However, for evaluation purposes it is more comfortable to breakdown two profiles into one profile comparison sheet that shows the differences between the two. Comparing abilities and requirements with a profile comparison sheet allows statementsabouttoo low or too high demands with regard to a given attribute.

4.) The module MELBA SL enables a more differentiated documentation of abilities and requirements in the areaof below averagecharacteristics and thus constitutes a supplement to the standard version of MELBA.
