SDPCA 2018 Board of Directors Ballot – 2017-11-22

Statement by Members who have agreed to serve on the 2018 Board of Directors

PRESIDENT

Sheryl Roush

I am a past President of SDPCA when we experienced the largest membership base in our history, and the highest meeting attendance of approximately 75 people each month. I've also been a proud and committed member for 20 years, currently serving on the Interim Board, in addition to the Brain Trust Committee, to help guide and move our organization forward with the success we are experiencing. As an entrepreneur with proven leadership skills, in addition to 20 years of professional coaching, 17 published books, and numerous awards, I align with the heart, energy, and spirit of our organization and intend to continue that growth and direction in service to the membership. I ask for your vote to serve you again as President.

Bijan Zayer

I am very committed to developing Internal Systems that support SDPCA’s organizational growth. I am prepared to immediately increase our outreach with emphasis on developing our organization’s Brand and Reputation with emphasis on attracting millennial coaches and other new members to our tribe. I am excited to support the 2020 Club Mastermind and in addition, I will introduce Educational Programs and Projects that INSPIRE and promote our ability to work in coordinated teams. I have been a dedicated SDPCA member for over ten years, served on the nominations committee in the past, in addition to serving as a Board Member and Programs Chair. Currently I am serving as your interim President Elect and would be honored to serve as your President in 2018.

Secretary

Mary Odgers

I’m a new coach eager to immerse myself in the San Diego Coaching culture. I have visited enough groups to know that I have found a home at SDPCA. I am looking forward to the leadership opportunity and also the chance to give back to a group that has benefited me greatly in establishing the mindset I desire to be a coach

Treasurer

Carl Wellenstein

Carl first joined the SDPCA Board as Treasurer in January 2012 and has served in that capacity most of the time since then. He was instrumental in preparing many of the policies and procedures that guide the association today and he worked closely with the website developer to create the current website. Carl believes his long career in business and as a CPA and coach brings a unique perspective that can benefit SDPCA’s stability and future growth.

VP Communications

Karen Dietz

As VP Communications, my goal is to support the VP Membership by taking over meeting administrative tasks. This means the person in the VP Meetings position can connect directly with members at meetings, talk with them, promote membership, and allow the person in that position to make sure our members are well taken care of. My goal as VP Meetings is to also make sure every person who attends our meetings feels welcomed and has a great experience checking in. Another goal is to make sure we have collected all the necessary monies and have a proper accounting of attendees so the Treasurer has the proper documentation and accounting needed.

VP Marketing

Joni Wilson

Today All the World Truly IS Our Stage and I have spent the past 7 years learning from the best how to market and access this huge network of clients and colleagues. I would be honored to serve on the board as your VP in Marketing and share my knowledge with board members, members and guests. I come from both a Show Biz and a Professional Business Background and I have learned how to merge both seamlessly. I am a returning member of SDPCA at a time when marketing is vital to get your message “out-there.” But most of all, I’m excited to be in a group that leads with not only its head, but with its heart. Please honor me with your vote and I will serve you well!

VP Membership

Kevin Tucker

I am currently serving the role of VP Membership since being elected in April. Previously, I served on the Board in a similar role with ICF chapters in Columbus, OH and Phoenix, AZ. Professionally, I have served in senior human resources roles and have had my coaching practice for the past 14 years, in addition to 20 years with the US Air Force. Since being on the SDPCA Board we have experienced consistent growth in membership. As we continue, I commit to enhancing the value and benefits of membership, such as creating mastermind and Special Interest Groups (SIG), in addition to soliciting ongoing feedback to ensure success. I ask for you vote to continue serving you into 2018. For more about me go to www.CoachKevinTucker.com

VP Meetings

Lori Sheets

I am a past board member of SDPCA and currently supporting VP Membership, where I am performing the duties of VP Meetings. (These duties are currently part of the VP Membership’s role.) It would an honor to continue to provide the best meeting experience for our existing and potential members. When someone walks in the door for one of our meetings, we only get one chance at a first impression! With my experience, dedication and excitement, I will be doing the best job possible! I will be leading a team of individuals of having everyone feel welcome, while being inclusive to all. Beyond SDPCA, I’ve served in leadership and as a Past President of Toastmasters. As a fellow coach, I’m here for you.

VP Professional Development

Ken Sergi

I am currently performing the role of VP Professional Development (“PD”) since the Interim Board was elected to give rebirth to SDPCA in May. Previously I served on the Board for five years in a similar role when SDPCA was at its peak. Recently I served on the Brain Trust Committee contributing my Organization Development (“OD”) expertise and having institutional knowledge to help our organization move forward. I’ve been a member for 15 years and have good working relationships with the other Board members. I also performed this role for PCMA bringing in high profile speakers, in addition to managing the professional development function for large corporations worldwide. I’m a Certified Coach, OD expert, and Master Trainer. See more on the SDPCA website and SergiConsulting.com.
