Reports To: Program Director, High Rise Mobile Food Shelf (HRMFS)

Status: Full Time, Monday-Thursday (7:00am-4:30pm); Friday (7:00-11:00am) Non-exempt

Location: 554 8th Avenue N, Minneapolis, MN 55411

Broad Scope and Function of Job: The Driver picks up donations from businesses and vendors and delivers orders to 39 HRMFS sites and Glendale and Senior Food Shelf programs. The Driver completes documentation, loads and unloads products and assists Shipping and Receiving Coordinator picking delivery orders and putting supplies into storage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Operate dock truck safely and efficiently to pick up donations and make deliveries (70%)

a)  Make accurate and on-time deliveries to High Rise Mobile Food Shelf buildings on 5 set routes. Deliver to other ESNS programs as needed.

b)  Load and unload trucks for deliveries and donation pickups by hand or using pallet jacks.

c)  Complete documentation associated with each pickup and delivery.

2.  Monitor maintenance and repair of dock trucks. (10%)

a)  Complete physical truck inspection and maintain a daily inspection log.

b)  Monitor maintenance schedule for the assigned vehicle.

c)  Fuel vehicles when needed.

d)  Communicate repair needs and scheduling needs with ESNS Director of Food Programs.

3.  Provide excellent customer service to partners, clients and donors (10%)

a)  Meet and greet building coordinator and volunteers at each HRMFS delivery location. Obtain signature on delivery sheets.

b)  Assist building volunteers with unloading food onto tables when needed.

c)  Provide excellent service and positive attitudes when picking up donations from all donors.

d)  Communicate changes in delivery or pick-up schedules to donors and building coordinators. Give as much advance notice as is possible.

4.  Assists with general Mobile Food Shelf activities (10%)

a)  Instruct Driver Helper and volunteers on duties and tasks.

b)  Assist Shipping and Receiving Coordinator with creating weekly food delivery orders based on available inventory.

c)  Collaborate with Director of Food Programs, Program Director of HRMFS and other staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals and objectives.

d)  Assist with snow removal, grass cutting, general cleaning and light maintenance of the warehouse building and grounds.

e)  Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

•  Minimum of 2 years commercial dock truck driving experience, including hands-on freight pickup and delivery.

•  Experience with food products and refrigerated freight.

•  Valid Minnesota Class D driver's license.

•  Must maintain valid DOT health card.

•  Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and have no physical restrictions precluding heavy lifting, walking, stretching and bending.

•  Work in a regulated refrigerated environment (0 degrees or below) for short periods of time.

•  Experienced in operating electric and manual pallet jacks helpful.

•  Ability to positively represent Metro Food Programs in communications with member agencies and donors.

·  Self motivated and able to work cooperatively with others.

·  Be able speak and read English.

·  Able to relate to people of varied ethnic, cultural backgrounds, ages and economic circumstances with respect and consideration.

·  Maintain client information confidentiality.

Compensation: $11.00-$13.00/ hour, DOQ.
