Professional coach (Cricket)

Job description

Reports to:Assistant Director of Sport

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

•Be an ambassador for Cricket and help raise the profile of KGS Cricket in the local area and beyond.

•Uphold the school’s reputation and sporting ethos

•Contribute to the progression and maintenance of school sport – specifically cricket within a landscape of local and national positioning

•Ensure all pupils’ experience, at any level, is a positive and enjoyable one

•Alongside the Head of Cricket and key department staff deliver a comprehensive Winter and pre-season programme for all performance cricketers

•Deliver the scheme of work for your sport/sin collaboration with the Head of Cricket and Assistant Director of Sport

•Alongside the Head of Cricket take responsibility for and contribute to the coaching of performance teams – both boys and girls. This may include Saturday matches alongside weekly games/training sessions.

•Be responsible for - in collaboration with the Head of Cricket, the implementation of the latest technological advances e.g. the use of video analysis and statistical analysis at key age groups

•Monitor, plan and manage individual pupil progression through the school with assistance from the Head of Cricket

•Monitor individual pupils’ training/competing and work-life balances and to offer support and advice where necessary in collaboration with the Head of Cricket and Sports Scholars

•Communicate with pupils and parents on important issues such as team selection and playing/training commitments

•Liaise with strength and conditioning coaches to devise and implement specific practices/sessions to improve the pupils’performances and reduce injury risk

•Provide a review on the progress of teams you are responsible for to the Head of Cricket regularly and meet to discuss where appropriate.

Person Specification

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications
•A minimum Level 2 or equivalent ECB Cricket Coaching Qualification/s
•A Level 3 or equivalent ECBCricket Coaching Qualification /  / 
Experience
•Experience coaching groups of young players aged 11-18 years
•Experience within both female and male coaching environments
•Experience working in a school and/or performance cricket environment (CAG) /  / 

Skills and Knowledge
•Excellent ability to build rapport and respect with players, coaches and parents
•Excellent up to date coaching skills
•Ability to communicate vision and goals
•Ability to think strategically and creatively
•Good IT skills / 
