Reports relating to the General meeting of the Parish Council of Moulton held on 2nd June 2015

Clerk’s Report

1.E-mail and photos sent to Wicksteed raising concerns over wear of the rubber and cracking on the cradle seats at Moulton Seas End play area.

2. Letter sent to Transported Arts with concerns raised in connection with the display boards in both bus shelters.

3. Letter sent to Hannah Skingley relating to the playing field and residential development off Woodgate Road in Moulton Chapel.

4. Request sent to SHDC asking that the bin outside the play area in Moulton Seas End is emptied. Reference SHC-394033.

5. Revised photos sent to Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership (LRSP) for approval of potential sites for ground socket and posts.

6. Letter sent to SHDC requesting a road sweeper for Roman Bank, Moulton Chapel.

7. Confirmation has been received from CPRE Best Kept Village competition accepting our entry into the competition and that judging starts on 31st May. Posters have been displayed on all parish council notice boards and Cllr Scarsbrook has distributed them throughout the village to commercial and voluntary buildings.

8. A residential hedge along Broad Lane in Moulton appears to have been trimmed back and no longer causing an obstruction to the footpath. A residential hedge along Roman Road in Moulton Chapel has also been cut back to prevent it from overhanging the footway.

Cemetery & Churchyard Report

1. Request for Burial of Ashes for Andrew David Dawson on Saturday 23rd May.

2. Bob Marriott has confirmed that the weeds and edges of the churchyard at Moulton Chapel have been sprayed. The hedges have also been trimmed. Scarecrow No.14 which had been discarded in the churchyard has been removed and the area tidied up.

3. Request for Burial of Ashes for Iris Eva Hase on Friday 12th June.

Highways Report

1. Letter sent to Highways regarding overhanging hedge along Oxcroft Bank, Moulton Chapel. Highways have confirmed that the hedges belong to the residents and are not the responsibility of the County Council however, they are not encroaching onto the highway at an intervention level which would cause problems to careful drivers. The condition of the carriageway is causing the Highway officer slight concern which will be attended to very soon.

2. Letter sent to Cllr Davies at Lincolnshire County Council regarding the Parish ‘ward walks’. Date has been set for Tuesday 2nd June at 3 pm meeting initially at the Youth & Community Centre in Moulton Chapel and continuing around the Parish.

3. Letter sent to Weston Parish Council asking for support with a reduction in the speed limit along Broad Lane/West Cobgate/Beggars Bush.

4. Letter sent to County Highways raising concerns along Roman Road, Moulton Chapel and the extent of loose road chippings on both the highway & pathway. Request has also been sent to the District Council asking that the road be swept.
