REPORT ON NATIONAL UNITY DAY
To provide the nation an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity,integrity and security of our country, the 139thbirth anniversary of Sardar Patel was observed as the National Unity Day at K.V. F.R.I.
At the very outset the principal Dr. Charu Sharma and all the members of the staff offered a floral tribute to the Iron Man, and first home minister of India,SardarBallabhBhai Patel. This was followed by a pledge taken by all the students and staff to maintain the unity and integrity of the country.
Scouts and guides of the Vidyalaya presented a song of integrity and solidarity. Eminent Educationist and retired I.F.S. Sh. J.K. Tiwari addressed the students and the staff to mark this historic occasion.
He called for every one’s equal endeavor in preserving and maintaining the unity and integrity of this great nation as it was reckoned by Sardar Patel. He reiterated on the importance of Universal Quality Education as it is the most appropriate medium to bring the people of the diverse creeds,cultures,religions,regions and social strata of life.
Sh. Sunil Kumar, a scholar and teacher of the Vidyalaya highlighted the role of SardarBallabhBhai Patel in maintaining the unity and sovereignty the country. He reminded the students of his contribution in the freedom struggle of the country andabout his bold decision for the merger of the princely states in the Indian Union.
Another staff member Sh. A.K. Yadav presented a melodious song, ‘Ekta Ka DiyaYun Hi JaltaRahe’ on National Integration.
On this occasion Inter House quiz competition, Essay Writing and Declamation competitions were also organized. Students of all the classes and houses participated in it very enthusiastically. Main attraction of the days’activities was “Run for Unity” which was flagged off by the Principal Dr. Charu Sharma.
Addressing the gathering the principal Dr. Charu Sharma asked the students to follow the ideals set by SardarBallabhBhai Patel. She said that he did not become great in one day only; he sacrificed his whole life for the sake of our country.The programme came to an end with the collective singing of the National Anthem.
