REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN K.V. C.R.P.F., AMERIGOG FROM 8TH TO 15TH AUGUST, 2017

The nation has completed 70 glorious years of Independence on 15 August, 2017. In the run-up to the Independence celebration a number of activities were organised in the school in a befitting manner involving students, teachers and parents. Everyone participated with full pomp and vigour. The celebration on 8th August, 2017 started with Honourable Principal, Mr. Vishnu Dutt Tailor addressing the students and enumerating the struggle of our freedom fighters and reiterating the manner in which common people can work together for a greater and better India by doing our duties, being responsible, sensitive, and peace loving and respecting each other. It was followed by a beautifully sung patriotic song by Mrs. Gitima Das, Music teacher(PRT). The next day that is on 9th August, 2017 the School Captain (Girls’) Miss Kasturi Dev Choudhary delivered a moving speech on the role of students in making the India of our dreams. She urged everyone to shun communalism, embrace peace, fight corruption and encourage innovation for India to be truly progressive. The tiny tots, students of Class I joined her on stage proudly waving beautiful handmade flags that they had made for the first time. On 10th August, 2017 the NCC Unit of our school presented a wonderful patriotic song sung with great energy and emotion. The students of NCC Unit hoisted the National Flag. It was followed by a plantation drive by the NCC students in the vidyalaya premises under the guidance of Honourable Principal and their Official caretaker, most esteemed Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, PGT Geography in order to contribute in a small but memorable way towards a green India. Mrs. Kavita Devi, senior PRT of the vidyalaya also gave a speech fervently appealing to the students not to let the contribution of our freedom fighters go in vain. On 11th Aug. Children presented a patriotic song during the morning Assembly. On 12th August, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, PGT Geography also conducted a quiz on India’s Freedom Struggle in which all the students and teachers actively participated. On 14th August there were a number of programmes presented like patriotic song by students and Miss Dipanwita Deka, Art teacher. It was followed by a skit presented by students of class VI and VII, a tribute to the army personnel, protecting our borders and fighting insurgency. The most interesting part of the programme was the action song presented by students of Class I dressed as various Freedom Fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Kanaklata Barua etc. Then students of class VII presented a patriotic dance followed by another patriotic number presented by the Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of K.V. C.R.P.F, Amerigog. The National Flag was proudly hoisted by Mr. S.A. Aleem,PRT and Divisional Secretary B. S. & G, KVS, Ghy region and Mr. R. K. Jha, PGT Biology an active Scout Master and master trainer (HWB) accompanied by the students of the Scouts and Guides Unit. Children also took part in a Slogan and poster making competition on various themes on 70 years of independence. On 15th August, 2017, Parents were also invited to the Independence Day Celebration in the School. The programme started with hoisting of the National Flag at 7:45 am by honourable Principal Sir. It was followed by speeches delivered by two students in Hindi and English by Miss Sweety Chakraborty of Class 12, Science and Miss Devjani Paul of Class 12 Humanities on the precious legacy of our freedom fighters which we should zealously safeguard and how students can work towards a greater India. Master Aditya Chakraborty of Class IX A presented a beautiful self composed poem on mother India.Miss Shikha Moni Bora of Class 12 Science anchored the programme. A quiz was conducted on the Freedom struggle for the parents, teachers and students. A group song and a vibrant dance number were also presented by students arousing spontaneous applause. The momentous event of the day was the inauguration of the wall of Heroes by Honourable Principal Sir and floral tributes were paid by teachers, parents and students to all the armed Forces personnel who had fought valiantly to protect India’s sovereignty, some soldiers even sacrificing their lives in the process. The programme ended with Principal Sir congratulating everyone on India’s 70 years of Independence and urging everyone to join hands and work together for a Clean, Green, secular and progressive India. Many more programmes will continue till 30th August, 2017 and the same will be uploaded in the school’s website.
