RMD Districts is set to be held in Dallas March 5-8th. This was set at the congressional meeting in June. Colorado Selects is going to appeal the dates. Their Teir I teams (16 and 19) league is holding the league championships that same weekend. The Selects had those dates at the time of the congressional meeting for districts and did not voice a conflict. I stated that moving the dates either one weekend sooner or later would conflict with Arizona. Once weekend prior is our league championships and one weekend later is the player development camp. I stated that our league changed the dates to accommodate the district dates. A formal appeal has been filed by Colorado.

Player Development camp for females is going to be held in Colorado Springs, Co on the campus of Colorado College from June 13-18. This is a combined district camp to include, RMD, Pacific and Northern Plains. Each state will send their own players as usual. National selection allotments will be pooled and selected from all of the participants from the combined attendees.

Several different ideas were shared related to growing girls’ hockey. Once association opens up a practice a week to any USA Hockey registered female player to attend. They have had good turnouts but not seen an increase in their own program. Another state has worked with their HS and formed 3 all-female teams from the girls that play on their own respective HS teams. The state has approved use of some of the grant money to be used to pay for these girls’ teams to play each other in addition to their standard schedule. Another has held an all-female jamboree. They are attempting to put together a girls’ team from some of those participants. I shared that AZ State provided ice to hold free clinics throughout the off season. We saw moderate success in our girls program from those.

Thank you for sending me to the committee meeting. It was appreciated.
