BIOLOGY CALENDAR

LAST TWO WEEKS OF FIRST SEMESTER

TOPICS: BIOCHEMISTRY

CA State Standards Covered This Week:

·  Students know most macromolecules (polysaccharides, nucleic acids, proteins, lipids) in cells and organisms are synthesized from a small collection of simple precursors.

·  Students know proteins can differ from one another in the number and sequence of amino acids.

There is a document on my website to help you prepare for the final exam. The final exam is usually approximately 15% of the grade (100-150 scantron questions). The documents are under “Miscellaneous Files” (NOT links) and look like this: COLLEGE-PREP BIOLOGY FALL FINAL EXAM REVIEW.doc

** If you want to “go green” and save yourself some paper, cut and paste the review guide into a word document and reduce the font size. Then print out the odd pages first and feed the paper back into your printer and print the even pages.

I will drop one quiz from your grade (rather than give extra credit) – Go onto Aeries and tell me which quiz by number. Be sure it is a quiz. I will keep a list in my classroom for each class. You have until the day of your final exam to do this. I will not do this by emails, phone calls, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
