A very good afternoon
Mr Lee Suan Hiang, CEO of NAC,
Friends from the media and arts groups,
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Welcome to Reflections at Keppel Bay.
From the video, you would have seen that the Keppel Group is committed to further our growth with our three key strategic thrusts of Sustaining Growth, Empowering Lives and Nurturing Communities wherever we operate.
We have always been a strong supporter of the arts.Through the years, we have provided numerous platforms to showcase talents and artistes both here and abroad.
To celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we are pleased to partner the National Arts Council on a milestone initiative to cultivate audiences for the arts.
To be branded as Keppel Nights, this new schemeis Singapore’s first sustained arts programme that offers discounted show tickets for students, heartlanders, senior citizens and their families over a year.
Through this innovative scheme, we want to continue to nurture and engage the community and make the arts more accessible to Singaporeans.
We are excited to embark on this new partnership with NAC. We hope this programme will encourage greater appreciation for the arts amongst Singaporeans.
I am also pleased to announce that the Keppel Night scheme will be officially launched by Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on 19 August 2008 at the Esplanade, in conjunction with Keppel Corporation’s 40th Anniversary Concert.
This Concert, performedby the Singapore Symphony Orchestrais the inaugural show of the series of Keppel Nights and will premier a symphony that Keppel has commissioned specially for our anniversary.
I will now hand the time over to Mr Lee Suan Hiang for his address.
Thank you.
