Background

Remake Scotland is a local community resource charity working to support children’s creativity and community education.

As part of its environmental charitable aims, Remake sources and processes donations of dry, clean & safe business waste (and some domestic items) such as textiles, paper, card & plastic and processes them as alternative arts and crafts resources for affiliate community groups, schools and individual crafters for low cost sale in the scrapstore. Remake also sells second hand furniture.

Remake Scotland operates a loyalty scheme called the Remake Pass which allows affiliates to access the scrapstore. The scrapstore provides an important source of income for our charity, helps us deliver our aims as well as provide valuable volunteering opportunities for the community, and in particular, work placement opportunities for young adults. All profits from our scrapstore go back into providing services.

Creative workshops are delivered at the Crieff premises or as part of our Remake Challenge Champions environmental education outreach programme for children and young adults highlighting how everyone can play a part in reducing waste sent to landfill sites. Beneficiaries do not need to be Remake Pass affiliates to access this service.
