A vacancy exists for a relieving principal position at Mingoola Public School forTerms 2 and 3, 2016.

Mingoola Public School is situated fifty seven kilometres west of Tenterfield near the Queensland border. As there were no enrolments at the beginning of 2016, the school has not been in operation during Term 1. There are now four enrolments for Term 2, 2016.

A school residence is available to accommodate the successful candidate.

General Selection Criteria:

  • High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
  • Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
  • Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
  • Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

General Criteria:

  • A proven capacity to manage the dual role of a teaching principal.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching across the K-6 curriculum with expertise in managing a multi-stage classroom.

The expression of interest must include the qualities and experience that the person would bring to the position.

Applications must include the names and contact details of two referees, one of which must be the applicant’s current principal or supervisor.

Special Notes - Classification Structure for Principals:

  • From 2016, the classification and remuneration of our school principals will be based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation.
