Regulationsof “Gold Dolphin” Award of
2012 Xiamen International Animation Festival
Chapter1 General Provisions
Article 1 In the purpose of encouraging the development of animation industry and its application of information technology, “Gold Dolphin” Award of Xiamen International Animation Festival is to be held from October 26 to October 29,2012 in Xiamen, China. And theseRegulationsarehereby formulated to guarantee the openness, fairness, equity of this Competition and ensure the regulative and orderly performanceof appraisal work.
Chapter 2 Organization
Article 2 The Organization Committee of “Gold Dolphin” Award of Xiamen International Animation Festival (hereinafter referred to as “Organization Committee”) is composed of the sponsorand relevant functional departments. In accordance with actual conditions of Xiamen International Animation Festival, the Organization Committee hereby formulates the Regulations of“Gold Dolphin” Award of 2012 Xiamen International Animation Festival (hereinafter referred to as “Appraisaland SelectionRegulations”) and the Rules of “Gold Dolphin” Award of 2012 Xiamen International Animation Festival (hereinafter referred to as "Rules of the Competition”) to guide the organization of the Competition.
Article 3 The Organization Committee will invite animationexperts at home and abroad, insiders and scholars from academic institutions to act as judges who make up the “Selecting Committee” of “Gold Dolphin” Award (hereinafter referred to as “Selecting Committee”) and the Appraisal Board. And chairman, members and other positions of the “Selecting Committee” and Appraisal Board will take charge of electing work.
Chapter 3 Competition Time
Article 4 The Competition will be open to application as the date of the promulgation of theseRegulations, and no application will be accepted after 12p.m. ofSeptember 10, 2012. The pre-selection and preliminary selection of the entries will be conducted from September 15 to September 25, and the final choice will be made from October 10 to October 20, and then the list of winners will be announced in the grand prize-presentingceremony on the evening of October 28.
Chapter 4 Categories and Awards
Article 5 Various categories of awards are established according to different features of animations. Awards and the number of winners are specified in specific provisions of the “Rules of the Competition”.
Article 6 According to actual conditions, the AppraisalBoard shall have the right to suggest that the Organization Committee appropriately adjust some awards and the number of winners.
Chapter 5 Application and Entry
Article 7 Eligibility:
1. The entry shall be in compliance with laws and regulations of China and moral norms. And it shall not contain any pornographic, violent and bloody and other unhealthy contents.
2. The entry shall be created or made public within recent two years.
3. Any entry shall be originally created by the author, and for works jointly created, the approval of the lead creators shall be obtained. Nominated works will be shown to the public through the network media. Copy, imitation and replication of others’ works are forbidden, or the Organization Committee shall have the right to disqualify the participants upon investigation. Where such copy, imitation and replication havepernicious influence, legal liabilities will be pursued by the Organization Committee.
Article 8 No entry fees are charged. Applicants only need to fill in and submit the entry forms onthe official website of Xiamen International Animation Festival ( and then hand in the entries and relevant data as required by the Rules of the Competition.
Article 9The submissionof the entry form shall be deemed as the agreement to abide by the provisions of these Regulations and the Rules of the Competition.
Chapter 6Appraisaland Selection
Article 10Procedures and standards ofappraising and electing the entries shall be specified inthe Rules of the Competition.
Article 11 The Organization Committee and Appraisal Board shall select the winning entries and determine the list of winners in line with the Rules of the Competition. And it shall notify the winner of the outcome within two weeks after the appraisaland selection.
Article 12 Entries passing the preliminary appraisal will be released to the public during the projectionweek of Xiamen International Animation Festival.
Chapter 7 Prize-Presenting and Awards
Article 13 The Organization Committee shall be responsible for presenting the trophy, certificate and bonuses to the winners of “Gold Dolphin” Award. The establishment of awards and methodsof awarding are specified in the Rules of the Competition.
Chapter 8 Legal Matters
Article 14 The participant shall be the legitimate owner of his entry for which hehas the copyright and undertakes corresponding legal responsibilities.
Article 15The copyright of the entry shall be owned by the author. The Organization Committee is entitled to exhibiting and broadcasting the entries on the media as well as publishing the anthology of excellent works of the entries.
Article 16 Where the author makes no statement in the application for entry form, the Organization Committee shall have the right to take the whole or part of the entry for publicizing the competition.
Article 17 The sponsorshall bear no liability for the loss of entries sent by means of posting in the process of posting.
Article 18 No limit is set by the Organization Committee for the participants to sent his work for likewise competition or for commercial purposes, while all probable conflicts with organizers of other competition or relevant institutions shall be undertaken by the participant himself.
Chapter 9 Supplementary Provisions
Article 19 TheseRegulation shall come into effect as the date of its release.
Article 20TheseRegulationsshall be subject to the final interpretation of the Organization Committee of“Gold Dolphin” Award of Xiamen International Animation Festival.
