Regulations for the Postgraduate Programme in

SPORT COACHING

These Programme Regulations apply to the conduct of the programme in the 2012-13 session and should be read in conjunction with University Regulation XXI and the relevant Module Specifications. These Programme Regulations may be subject to change from time to time. Notice of change will be given by the School responsible for the programme.

1.Structure

1.1School with administrative responsibility:

School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences

1.2The programme leads to the award of MSc/MScwith distinction, Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip)/PGDip with distinction, or Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert)/PGCert withdistinction.

1.3The programme is available on a full-time and/or part-time basis.

1.4The minimum period of study for the award of MSc is twelve months full-time, or twenty-four calendar months part-time.

*Candidates undertaking a Project need formal approval of a research proposal by the Programme Director and an agreed Supervisor. It is expected that candidates registered for PSP700will be nearing completion of 120 credits before embarking on their research.

2Full time candidates must select either PSP002 or PSP003

3.Assessment

3.1 Each module in a Programme will be assessed and credit awarded in accordance with the levels of achievement specified in Regulation XXI.

3.2Provision will be made in accordance with Regulation XXI for candidates who have the right of re-examination to be reassessed in the University’s Special Assessment Period where modules allow.

4.Awards

The eligibility of candidates on the Programme for the award of the Degree of Master, the Postgraduate Diploma or the Postgraduate Certificate, and for distinction in these awards, shall be in accordance with Regulation XXI.
